Hi
My name is JoJo. I am currently majoring in Special Education Mild Moderate. I'm deciding to change my major.
I would like a career where I can teach blind individuals how to use Jaws.
I'm not sure where to start looking. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
JoJo
There are some colleges with assistive technology degrees (associates usually if I recall correctly.) I'm not sure how to track them down, though there's one here in Wisconsin someplace. That's more than just teaching jaws, but most places that'd hire somebody would want someone that teaches more than just jaws. If you're just going to be teaching jaws, you're going to probably be relying on states or other agencies to make short term contracts to go to someone's place and teach them there. Hope that helps a tad.
Agreed with the last post. I teach assistive technology now, but the mores stuff you can read as well as get credentialed from a college or university, the better off you'll be. If you have questions, feel free toa sk. If you want, send me a private QN, and we can take it from there.
